My mission is to empower individuals and families with gluten sensitivities and gut health issues to achieve optimal health and wellness. Through personalized nutrition plans, comprehensive gluten sensitivity testing, and healing protocols , I am dedicated to providing tailored support that addresses each person’s unique needs. My goal is to help you heal naturally and embrace gluten-free living, promoting a balanced, vibrant life along the way.
About Me
I’m Jennifer, the founder of Jennifer Keala Wellness, a San Diego-based health and wellness practice specializing in gluten sensitivity testing and holistic coaching for individuals and families.
My journey into the wellness field began over 20 years ago when I became a massage therapist in 2004. Working with thousands of clients and through my own health struggles, I’ve come to understand that our physical bodies hold onto and reflect the stresses we face—be they physical, chemical, emotional, or spiritual. This interplay between our experiences and our bodies can lead to dysfunction and disease if not addressed properly.
I have faced my own health challenges, including gut issues, wheat sensitivity, neurotoxicity, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which affected me for years. With lack of answers from conventional medicine and only frustration in their care, it led me to explore integrative and functional medicine, Chinese medicine, and naturopathy. My personal experiences have reinforced my belief in the importance of digging deep into our health concerns and educating ourselves to actively participate in our healing journey.
In 2018, I expanded my expertise by becoming a certified personal trainer through ISSA and NASM. During this time, I helped women build strength and confidence in their bodies.
In 2022, I became a certified Emotion Code practitioner, specializing in helping clients release stored emotions. I furthered my knowledge in energy healing with Level 1 and Level 2 Reiki training from a San Diego Reiki master.
My interest in nutrition began during my health struggles, where I had to overhaul my diet to manage severe gut issues. This journey led me to discover the benefits of a gluten-free lifestyle and sparked a passion for sharing nutritional advice. While in college, I studied health and nutrition and became a trusted resource for advice on these topics.
To deepen my knowledge, I completed a program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2024, earning my certification as a health coach. I also specialized as a gluten-free practitioner, aligning my passion with helping families embrace a gluten-free, whole foods lifestyle.
I reside in San Diego with my husband and our two younger children, while our adult son is serving in the Army. Our family lives by the principles I advocate: a whole foods, gluten-free lifestyle that fosters health and connection. For us, food is not just fuel—it’s a means of nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls while celebrating our shared moments.
